Sometimes work should just be fun

I've seen it, and I loved it. For a campy B-movie, it's quite entertaining. If you're looking for great dialogue and excellent cinematography, it's horrible, but if you're looking for a silly good time, it's hard to do better than SOAP.
I saw it with a bunch of friends from work on opening night. It was absolutely terrible, which I expected. The audience energy and reactions are what make it worth seeing (which I also expected). If you go see it, do so when you know the theater will be crowded.
it's definitely...entertaining. I went in with no expectations and wound up having a great time. There was a lot of laughing and screaming--I agree with Grant that audience energy and reactions make it worth seeing. Heck, if you want a good laugh, go to the site and send yourself, or friend, a message from Samuel L. Jackson. I laughed my butt off received mine!

Also saw an interview (during press for "Snakes on a Plane") in which he was asked about the roles he chooses and being type-cast. He basically said that his fans go to see his movies because they expect him to be the gruff, take-no-sh*t kind of character who eventually gets pissed and starts yelling and cursing - so that's the roles he chooses.

Gotta appreciate someone in Hollywood that self-aware.

[this is good]
not much into popular culture, but this interview definitely made me like this guy, straight-forward and self-aware (as Anna says) But I have no clue whether this is just appearance too ... besides the point of the post, I noted the common sense of just stick with the name and position that makes sense for the stuff rather than letting "branding" or "political correctness" take over
