Marcel Proust once wrote: "All our final decisions are made in a state of mind that is not going to last."
I say this not to boast about the fact that I managed to get a ticket to last Friday's Radiohead show in Berkeley (because, really, what is there to boast about being lucky?), but, seriously, that show was one of the best shows I've seen, ever. Radiohead is at the top of their game. The new stuff they played was great -- all over their spectrum, from rocking, to electro, to beautiful/melancholy -- and it made their existing work sound even more brilliant. Look, I don't know how long it will last, but at the moment, this is a band that is in complete control of what they're doing, and what they're doing is fantastic.
Here are some excellent photos from the show, taken by someone other than me.
Oh, by the way, I don't think I saw Johnny Greenwood's face even once during the show.
